Shortly after being hired in 1981, new Auburn Coach Pat Dye was asked by a reporter, "How long will it take Auburn to beat Alabama?" His firm reply was, "Sixty Minutes". Before long, Auburn's dominance on the football field had shifted the balance of power within the SEC. On December 2, 1989, Alabama came to Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium for the first time in the history of the rivalry. A sellout Iron Bowl crowd would witness Auburn win its first true home game of the series, 30-20 over an Alabama team that entered the game unbeaten and ranked # 2 in the country.
Done in a period style, this commemorative Auburn poster captures many of the inspiring elements of that famous Auburn victory including the scoreboard, Coach Dye, four-in-a-row Iron Bowl victory scores and best of all, defensive players standing victorious over their defeated Alabama prey. 16" x 20", unframed.
